“The word Amarena (cultivar Prunus cerasus) refers to a specific variety of dark wild and sour cherry from all over Italy and the Mediterranean regions. The name of the variety is derived from the Italian word for bitter, amaro. The colour and flavour is given by juices extracted from plants and by aromas that compose the sugary solutions.
