Galvin Cup 2011

On Monday 23 of May, 10 young student bartenders and 30 professional and skillful cocktail makers were competing for the 5th Galvin Cup trophy.

 

The competition tuck place at glamorous Whiskey Mist at Hilton park Lane,  the competitors have to make a Classic Martinez with MARTINI Rosso and a own creation with MARTINI Bianco or Rosato.

The cream of London Bar scene with mixologist from the top cocktail bar such as the Savoy, Dorchester, The Ritz and Four Season.

After a day of shaking, stirring, mixing, and throwing only 6 bartenders were choose to get to the shake off final.

At this point the mixologist had to show their presentation skills in front, Embajador Global de Ron BACARDI,  David Cordoba.

Also they had to make a special cocktail with MARTINI Gold by Dolce & Gabbana using only ingredients from a mystery box bag.

 

The tasting panel in a separate room was really critical and looking for the most balance drink with great appearance and somehow linked with MARTINI Gold by Dolce & Gabbana.

The judges were an  equally cosmopolitan group consisting of the Legend Peter Dorelli – Head bartender at American bar at Savoy for over 30 years.

Chris Galvin – Patron and Director of the famous Galvin at windows.

Giuseppe Gallo – MARTINI Global Ambassador

Ago Perrone – Best World Bartender and head of mixologsit at Connaught Hotel.

Alessandro Pizzoli from the Kensigton Hotel get the first price and £ 1,ooo GPB

Dario Provenzano was second from the Dorchester Hotel

Harry Glocker from The Ritz was on third place and also won as best technical.
