Celebrate National Prosecco Week

from August 13th with great cocktails and a tempting competition

National Prosecco Week provides the perfect opportunity to increase your bar sales of Prosecco DOC and elevate your beverage offering with premium cocktails. Prosecco DOC’s versatility, quality and rich heritage make it the world’s and the UK’s most popular sparkling wine. UK consumers drink more Prosecco DOC than any country in the world, except for Italy.

We’ve asked Alessandro Geraci and Gaspare Di Carlo from Italspirits to inspire your creativity with four fantastic cocktails that they have designed for the Prosecco DOC Consortium for National Prosecco Week 2024. Each is a play on a classic Prosecco DOC-based cocktail, but with ingenuity that meets today’s trends of focussing on home-made elements using seasonal ingredients, with a lower ABV, using simple mixology techniques and popular flavour profiles.

Embracing the rich tradition of Italian aperitives, their cocktail ideas use of-the-moment Italian spirits like Italicus Rosolio di Bergamotto, Savoia Vino Aperitivo, and Seven Hills Italian Dry Gin, and drawing on classic Italian cocktail recipes to create beverages that exude the charm and sophistication of Italy.

National Prosecco Week
“Ho Sbagliato” Spritz:

The Negroni Sbagliato offers a fresh take on the classic Negroni by replacing gin with sparkling wine for a lighter, effervescent quality that appeals to those looking for a refreshing and celebratory drink.

Ingredients:

40 ml Savoia Americano Rosso
20 ml Basil and Peach infused Rosé Vermouth
Top up with Prosecco DOC Extra dry
Lemon Leaf Aroma
Shake and strain
Clear Ice cubes
Green Basil paste leaf to garnish

Method:

Fill a glass with ice cubes to chill it. Pour 40 ml of SAVOIA Americano into the mixing glass together with 20 ml of Peach and basil-infused Sweet Vermouth. Gently stir the mixture to combine the Savoia and the infused Rosé vermouth. Pour into the chilled glass filled with Ice and slowly top up with Prosecco DOC. Pouring slowly helps to maintain the bubbles. Garnish with a Green Basil paste leaf made out of the leftovers from the infusion. Spray at the end with Lemon Leaf Aromas.

Your entry:

The recipe must contain at least of 85 ml of Prosecco DOC. Any brand of Prosecco may be used, as long as it is labelled as a product of Italy and is marked as Prosecco DOC.

The total volume of all ingredients in the recipe shall be a minimum of 85 ml and may not exceed 225 ml of liquid

 

Judging:

Recipes will be scored on flavour analysis, skill and originality by our judges from CLASS and Italspirits. Based on the Judges’ scores, one winner will be determined and notified by August 9th 2024.

Prize:

The overall winner will win a trip to the Prosecco DOC regions, to meet the winemakers and enjoy a sensational all-inclusive stay for two people in the heart of Prosecco Dreamland.

Italicus National Prosecco Week

Italiano DOC

A twist on the French 75

Ingredients:

20ml ITALICUS Rosolio di Bergamotto
20ml Seven Hills Gin
10ml Rhubarb & Timur Pepper Cordial
10ml Lemon Juice
Top up with Prosecco DOC Dry

Method:

Shake and strain without ice. Top up with Prosecco DOC Dry. Serve in a tulip glass. Garnish with dry rhubarb

MargarITA National Prosecco Week

MargarITA

A twist on the Margarita

Ingredients:

20ml Tequila Blanco
30ml SAVOIA Orancio
30ml Jasmine Agave
Lime Juice
Top up with Prosecco DOC Rosé

Method:

Shake and strain without ice. Serve in a coup with three white grapes on a stick

ItaloAmericano Cocktail with Savoia and Italicus

ItaloAmericano DOC

A twist on the Americano

Ingredients:

30ml Seven Hills Gin
30ml fig infused Sweet Vermouth
Top up with Prosecco DOC Rosé

Method:

Build up and serve in a highball with ice cubes. Garnish with dry fig on balsamic vinegar glazed and Grana Padano
