Summer is upon us and SAVOIA Americano Rosso is the perfect aperitivo to Salute Italy. The brand champions several botanicals from across Italy, combined with an exquisite wine base. SAVOIA Americano can be simply enjoyed over ice to experience an interpretation on the classic  Milano – Torino cocktail. This drink, believed to be the first ever classic cocktail from Italy, is a nod to the two cities that are most associated with the aperitivo culture. 

The Milano-Torino goes back to the ritual of drinking vermouth from Torino (TO), mixed with bitter aperitif, typically from Milano (MI) to create a cocktail rich in aromatic and herbal notes, which stimulates the appetite. With the addition of ice and carbonated water, or soda, as requested by the first American tourists, the drink transforms to a lighter and livelier cocktail known as : the Americano.

To best enjoy a SAVOIA Mi-To, Milano-Torino, just pour 50ml of SAVOIA Americano in a tumbler with ice, and garnish with three white grapes. For a delicious Americano, just top with soda. 

SMALL CAPS’ ILLUSTRATIONS, DEDICATED TO SAVOIA

Small Caps, a venetian graphic studio managed by two young designers, have created a series of great visual illustrations to communicate SAVOIA Americano Rosso’s versatility in cocktails. The series of artworks starting from Torino in Piedmont will tour the most iconic Italian cities, embracing the classic aperitivo culture. 

The first illustration is dedicated to Torino, first capital of Italy, with its most iconic landmarks, the Mole Antonelliana, Palazzo Madama and the Basilica di Superga. At the centre of the illustration, the elegant and stylish line of SAVOIA’s bottle stands out next to the Mole Antonelliana, which inspired the design of the bottle. In  the historic capital of Italy, it’s tradition for people to meet before dinner in the local cafe and enjoy an aperitivo with the classic Milano-Torino.

The project will take you through a journey across cities like Milano, Venezia, Firenze and the region of Sicilia with their most emblematic, Mediterranean symbols of conviviality, taste and traditions.
