Today, Savoia Vino Aperitivo announces its “Spirit of Savoia” program in honor of the brand’s third anniversary.

From the 21st of September until December 21st, the brand will celebrate Italian Aperitivo Culture by launching a competition for bartenders and consumers that highlights Savoia’s simplicity, versatility, and social connection, showcasing how adding just one ingredient can transform the entire cocktail experience.

Founded in 2021 by renowned Italian spirits expert Giuseppe Gallo, Savoia Vino Aperitivo was created to embody the very essence of Italian aperitivo culture. Savoia was created to democratize the aperitivo moment, it can be used as a ready-to-serve cocktail or as a key ingredient in a wide range of classic cocktails, such as the Negroni, Spritz, Americano, and Manhattan. The “Spirit of Savoia” program embodies the simplicity, versatility and social connection central to Savoia’s ethos. By adding just one ingredient, consumers and bartenders can entirely transform their cocktail experience

Bartenders can register for the program via the Spirit of Savoia website, from September 21, until December 21. The program is open to bars in Italy, Greece, United Kingdom, Hong Kong, Spain, and the United States, with more countries to follow. With their cocktail creations featured on the world-renowned Difford’s Guide, participating bars will gain increased exposure, boosting their visibility among cocktail enthusiasts. One winning bar from each participating countries will have the opportunity to host a masterclass or guest shift event led by one of the Top 50 Bars in the World. 

To inspire bartenders, Savoia’s brand has teamed up with Marc Alvarez, co-owner of SIPS Barcelona—voted the number #1 in the 2023 World 50 Best Bars ranking—to create two exclusive cocktails with Savoia and one more ingredient. Marc interpreted two recipes, combining Savoia Rosso with a bitter-sweet soda and Savoia Orancio with a sweet-and-sour cordial, which can be found below.

Marc Alvarez Recipes:

THEOBROMINE: 45 ML Savoia Americano Rosso 60 ML of Cacao bitter soda Garnish: Orange twist Glass: Small Collins Glass
To make the Cacao bitter soda: Boil water, when reached 100°C add cacao nibs, cook for 3 minutes, infuse for 10 minutes, strain, cool to room temperature, transfer to a NO2 siphon, refrigerate for 3 hours, charge with two NO2 cartridges.

PICKLE: 60 ML Savoia Orancio 25 ML Onion pickles honey cordial Garnish: Sicilian olive coated with ITALICUS jelly Glass: Tumbler with ice block  
To make the Onion pickles honey cordial: Combine honey, vinegar, water, black pepper, red onion, bay leaves, sherry wine, and citric acid in a vacuum bag, seal, and sous vide for 3 hours at 60°C. After cooking, strain the mixture, cool to room temperature, and store in a service bottle in the fridge.

The program will also engage off-trade communities, encouraging consumers to share their favorite Savoia moments (whether at home or in a bar) via social media by tagging @casa.savoia. Consumers have the chance to win a voucher worth 150 Euros/USD to enjoy at a top bar in the world, with one winner selected each month for a total of three winners during the campaign.
