ITALICUS Announce the ART OF ITALICUS 2020, CREATIVE TALENT – A Digital Art Competition

ITALICUS announce the launch of ART OF ITALICUS 2020 – CREATIVE TALENT, a Digital Art Competition to unite and support emerging artists from around the world, in celebration of the 4th anniversary of the Italian aperitivo brand ITALICUS Rosolio di Bergamotto. In Partnership with Moniker Art Fair, CREATIVE TALENT aims to inspire and support the art community while connecting them with the MADE In ITALY heritage during these challenging times, with the top three finalists being given a reward, as well as a round-trip experience to an ITALICUS Global brand event during 2021.

ART OF ITALICUS, CREATIVE TALENT 2020, opens on the 2nd June 2020 and invites both established and emerging artists, illustrators, graphic designers and painters from across the world under the age of 35 to take part in the ART OF ITALICUS challenge, by creating a unique digital artwork which represents the heritage, flavour and experience of ITALICUS as well as the brand’s strong Italian roots. Artists are encouraged to rediscover the rich traditions behind ITALICUS Rosolio di Bergamotto, a modern Italian aperitivo and its intrinsics.

The competition, which will focus on digital art, looks to push boundaries by connecting contemporary and urban art with the traditions, history and natural beauty of Italy that define ITALICUS. Artists are encouraged to use digital technology as part of their creative or presentation process, encouraging them to explore the diverse medium we all have access to from our homes. Be it stop motion, animation, motion graphics, digital illustrations or paintings, artists can be as creative as possible with the means available to them.

Founder, Giuseppe Gallo says “ITALICUS is a brand that encapsulates Italian art and poetry in liquid. ITALICUS is a modern aperitivo rediscovering old traditions of ROSOLIO and unique flavours such as BERGAMOTTO CITRUS rooted in the Italian culture. Every year we celebrate our anniversario by partnering with an emerging artist, this year we felt the importance of inclusion for all the art community around the world, to come together to celebrate art, the made in Italy and our birth place, partnering with Moniker Art Fair”.

Artists will be able to submit their Opera d’Arte up until the 13th July through the dedicated site, when members of the public vote for their favourite piece of work before the shortlisted candidates are judged by a panel of esteemed judges including, Tina Ziegler, Director of Moniker Art Fair, Rowan Miller Creative Director of Stranger and Stranger and ITALICUS founder, Giuseppe Gallo.  The top 3 winners will then be announced on the 1st September 2020 during the ITALICUS Anniversario celebrations.

In times of crisis, art has always brought people together. – says Tina Ziegler –  The beauty of the ART OF ITALICUS Competition is that it’s not only a wonderful opportunity for emerging artists to take part to it, but it also creates a digital platform for artists and communities to come together to show their love for Italian culture and heritage. Moniker is really pleased to be working with ITALICUS to offer up this great opportunity to our creative network and are excited to see how artists adapt to the times by creating works digitally”.

Through the initiative ITALICUS will also donate €1 per each entry to Bergamore https://www.bergamore.net, a project to support the growth of Bergamotto in Calabria.
